Cuyama Buckhorn is an artfully-restored roadside resort in the heart of Santa Barbara County’s high desert.
The iconic property, originally built in 1952, has been re-imagined as an elevated retreat nestled in The Hidden Valley of Enchantment. It rests at the intersection of 4 counties, on the other side of The Los Padres National Forest from Santa Barbara proper; and is just two hours or less from Los Angeles, Bakersfield, and Paso Robles.
Cuyama Buckhorn offers an intimate getaway filled with thoughtfully crafted meals, a bar where conversation flows effortlessly, 21 newly refined rooms with stylistic nods to the past, and 2 acres of meticulously designed outdoor space. The Enchanted Valley sits amidst star-filled night skies for some of the best stargazing in California and pastoral golden mountains boasting hiking trails, breathtaking wildflowers, and wilderness. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet hotel guests with a warm welcome
- Check in customers using hotel software programs and provide guests with directions to their room
- Inform customers of all on-site amenities, hours, hotel and local offerings, activities and experiences, as well as menus and any other relevant information for their stay
- Assist with guest room sales / bookings
- Answer guest emails and phone calls for bookings and reservation questions and help guide guest inquires
- Handle and resolve guest complaints in a timely, calm and efficient manner
- Settle guests balances for their stay, services and incidentals
- Ensure property and guest rooms are presentable and kept up to standard at all times
- Handle guest room inspections for pre and post stays
- Communicate with guests to better understand their individual needs in order to provide them with the best experience possible
- Work with other property departments to coordinate guest stays, communicate hotel capacity and guest needs and requests
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred but not mandatory: 1 year experience in an office, computer or guest services position
- Proficient computer skills
- Passion for hospitality and working with people
- Eagerness to provide an exceptional guest experience
- Detail oriented and attentive
- Dependable and open to helping out other areas of the team when needed
