CHUCK WAGON BAR-B-Q WEEKEND WITH CHEF BEN FORD:
Join us for an unforgettable Chuck Wagon Bar-B-Q Weekend that promises to be the ultimate season-ending celebration, October 13-15, 2023. Ben Ford of Ford’s Filling Station and author of ‘Taming the Feast’ will be sharing his grilling and smoking expertise by crafting a menu in collaboration with the Buckhorn team. They’ll be accompanied by Cowboy Poet Dick Gibford and live music from Sim Williams. Prior to Saturday Night’s Bar-B-Q celebration, Geoff Montgomery from Morro Bay Butcher + Deli is hosting a butchery class on Saturday morning, focusing on mastering meat preparation techniques and the art of breaking down a whole hog. In the afternoon, there’ll be a whiskey tasting and class with Central Coast Distillers, Rod & Hammer.
BUTCHERY CLASS WITH MORRO BAY BUTCHER + DELI
Master the art of meat preparation with Morro Bay Butcher + Deli’s butchery class, taking place in the outdoor Buckhorn Kitchen. Guests will discover how to transform a whole chicken into ideal pieces for grilling, baking, and frying. Participants will witness experts demonstrate how to prepare a whole hog for smoking, concluding with an opportunity to taste the finished products at the Chuck Wagon Bar-B-Q on Saturday night.

WHISKEY CLASS + TASTING WITH ROD & HAMMER DISTILLERY

As the Buckhorn bids farewell to the summer season, this Chuck Wagon Bar-B-Q Weekend promises to be a memorable event. Ben Ford, the chef behind Ford’s Filling Station and author of ‘Taming the Feast,’ is lending his grilling and smoking expertise to the Buckhorn team for a delicious collaboration. Rod & Hammer Distillery will be serving our barrel-aged cocktails. Guests can also enjoy cowboy poetry by Dick Gibford and live music by Sim Williams.
